Tier-1 has 100 questions across 4 sections in 60 minutes, each section carrying 50 marks. The marking scheme is +2 for correct, −0.5 for wrong.

Current Affairs (last 12–14 months) — 7–9 questions, highest single chunk History (Ancient, Medieval, Modern India) — 4–5 questions Polity (Constitution, Articles, Amendments) — 3–4 questions Geography (Indian + World Physical) — 3–4 questions Economy (Basic + Indian Economy) — 2–3 questions General Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) — 4–5 questions Static GK (books, awards, sports, days, festivals)
Arithmetic (~60% weightage): Percentage, Profit-Loss, SI & CI, Ratio, Time-Work, Time-Speed-Distance, Average, Mensuration Advanced Maths (~40%): Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Data Interpretation DI: Tabular, Bar, Line, Pie charts, Caselets — usually 4–5 questions
Reading Comprehension — 5 questions Cloze Test — 5 questions Error Spotting, Sentence Improvement — 5–6 questions Fill in the Blanks — 3–4 questions Synonyms, Antonyms, One-Word Substitution, Idioms — 7–8 questions Spellings, Sentence Rearrangement (PQRS) — 2–3 questions
Paper-1 (compulsory): Maths, Reasoning, English, GK + Computer (200 marks, 2 hours). Paper-2: Statistics (for JSO posts). Paper-3: General Studies (Finance & Economics).
